Lindsay Miller -Winter PDC December 2008 She was inspired to start her own Edible Landscape Design Business in Portland, called Deep Roots Edible Landscapes.  She attributes a great amount of start-up energy and confidence to her Permaculture course and for that she is very grateful.

Her business focuses on transforming residential and small commercial spaces into beautiful, functional, and delicious outdoor pantries filled with fruit and nut trees, berry bushes, culinary and medicinal herbs, perennial vegetables, edible vines, groundcovers, and seasonal food plants.  Her designs will enhance the aesthetics of each site, lower clients' weekly produce bill, reduce overall consumption of resources like oil and water, and improve mental and physical health.

Lacey Leskovar, Fall Permaculture Program 2007
Working with an organization from Boulder, Colorado called Back Yard Hive which specializes in topbar organic beekeeping.

Our vision is to branch out from our Colorado community to help create local topbar beekeeping cultures in other areas around the US.

Through our website we offer a short DVD, and we offer free online correspondence for topbar beekeeping questions, this is not enough
I hope all is well and look forward to visit you all one day again!!! om..
Besides this, we sell all the items one needs to get start with Top Bar beekeeping.  Our hives and tools are locally made by artisians in our little town (350 people Eldorado Springs outside Boulder).
We also offer free plans for our hives online.

Not only do we feel that organic beekeeping is an important addition to the local sustainable  movement, we find the sustaining a healthy, organic colony is crucial for the future of bees and our food chain.
