Visit Lost Valley's Developing Ecovillage and Learn about Life in Community

The Community Experience Week - CEW
5 day immersion programs

Please check Calendar for dates.

This five day experience gives you time to feel what life in community is like.  This vivid experience in intentional community living is a must for anyone interested in creating an eco-village.

We will look at different kinds of communities as well as learning specific information about Lost Valley. CEW serves as an opportunity to learn about the different aspects of living in, looking for, and starting communities, but can also be a great event for anyone who seeking to learn more about living in community to get a taste of the experience.

We will look at the basics of community life: vision and values, consensus decision-making, communication and connection, sustainability, right livelihood, the balance between personal and community life, spirituality, supporting a non-profit, running a conference and educational facility, and other topics of your choosing. We will apply what we learn to the creation of our week-long community, culminating in a community 20th Anniversary celebration event (optional).

Meanwhile, we will also consider community life as it is lived here at Lost Valley by studying its mission, structure, operating agreements and the principles of Permaculture. Then we will learn the practical applications by participating in various activities and programs such as gardening and permaculture, event preparation and service and sacred space.

There will also be time for roaming the land, relaxation, plant identification and nature walks and integrating in other ways within the community. Times: 12pm Monday through Friday afternoon, with possibility to stay on for the 20th Anniversary event till Sunday afternoon.
