Mission Statement
Lost Valley Center, Inc. (LVC) will function as an educational entity providing examples of how humans can successfully live simply and well within their ecosystems. LVC will actualize its mission in a manner that does not discriminate against any class of individuals protected by state and/or federal law. It will be proactive in including individuals from diverse backgrounds. In addition to other activities related to fulfilling this mission, LVC will provide learning opportunities, both hands-on and academic, in the areas of:
*Demonstrating how application of permaculture principles can create profitable, productive, and sustainable cultivated ecosystems which mirror the diversity, stability and resilience of healthy natural ecosystems;
*Maintaining a residential intentional community dedicated to demonstrating how people can successfully live together in an ecologically and socially sustainable fashion in relationship to each other, to our regional community, and to the global community;
*Creating methods for building towards food self sufficiency by focusing on self-grown products and procurement of products available within regional ecosystems;
*Developing and sustaining successful models for housing and infrastructure needed by people living on LVC property that are fully functioning settlements, in which human activities are successfully integrated into the natural world in a manner that is supportive of individual and collective financial, physical, and spiritual needs, and which can be successfully operated for the indefinite future;
*Providing specific programs and/or events that educate LVC residents and the greater regional populace about how to successfully respond to current and future environmental resource limitations.
