I WANNA FREEZE AND CAN

(Music: I WANNA BE YOUR MAN, Lennon-McCartney) (info./disclaimers [0]) (glossary [0]) (index [0]) (gardening guide [0])

I wanna eat well this winter, baby
I wanna freeze and can
I wanna eat well this winter, baby
I wanna freeze and can

I'll eat right out of the garden, baby
Every time I can
But some crops just don't last there, baby
I wanna freeze and can

I wanna freeze and can
I wanna freeze and can
I wanna freeze and can
I wanna freeze and can

I also wanna sun-dry, baby
And store stuff in the house
I'll use my root cellar for root crops, baby
And seal it against the Mouse

I wanna eat well this winter, baby
In every way I can
I'll dry, store, cellar, and harvest fresh, baby
And I wanna freeze and can

I wanna freeze and can
I wanna freeze and can
I wanna freeze and can
I wanna freeze and can

I need no supermarkets, baby
I don't want that food they sell
It's dead or it's laced with chemicals, baby
But in my garden I can grow food well

I've got no use for fast food, baby
I know it's just a sham
Time is love in the garden, baby
I wanna freeze and can

I wanna freeze and can
I wanna freeze and can
I wanna freeze and can
I wanna freeze and can

I wanna freeze and can (repeat and fade)

Comments: A lusty ode to food preservation, this has become a cult classic in pantries, freezers, and (to a lesser extent) root cellars all over the Beetless' "home territory." Consulting Putting Food By or some similar reliable reference is highly recommended, especially when canning.
