We welcome Volunteers at Lost Valley during our peak work season and occasionally at other times.
Volunteers can bring skills they have, learn new skills, and make new friends! Some ways you can help us are:
- gardening (especially in the spring-fall)
- permaculture projects
- natural building (spring-fall)
- maintenance
- office work (variety of tasks)
- cooking
- cleaning common spaces.
Volunteering is a wonderful way to get to know us and for us to get to know you. Please contact us at least one week in advance of the time you wish to come to be sure we have space for you and to arrange someone to work with you. Volunteers are welcome to come for 3 days after which we will review your stay and may invite you to stay longer.
Over-night Volunteers work 5 hours a day (35 hours per week) and pay the following fees:
- $15-$30 per day for camping (in the summer)
- $25-$50 per day for a dorm room (if available)
- Overnight rates include 3 organic meals per day.
If you wish to visit us without work obligations or be involved in our Visitor Days please visit our Tours and Visits [0] page.
Private Tours can be arranged in advance for $10-$25 per person with a $25 minimum.
*Sliding Scale explained- We try to keep our rates low so everyone can have a chance to be here. The low end of our rates are for people with a tight cash flow, the high end are for those with abundance. Most people pay somewhere in the middle range.
